Saltarium
Experience the healing power of salt
A pleasant, mild sauna to start your sauna experience. What makes the Saltarium so unique is its ancient technique: a graduation tower of blackthorn branches over which salt water flows, releasing a saline vapour into the air.
Saline vapour
Salt water trickles down the blackthorn branches in a wooden structure. The water evaporates as it trickles, infusing the air with a saline vapour and a subtle, pleasant scent. This saline vapour has a positive effect on the airways, making the Saltarium extremely effective for guests with bronchial issues, asthma, or hay fever.
What is a saltarium?
What makes the Saltarium so unique is its ancient technique: a graduation tower of blackthorn branches over which salt water flows, releasing a saline vapour into the air. Salt water trickles down the blackthorn branches in a wooden structure. The water evaporates as it trickles, infusing the air with a saline vapour and a subtle, pleasant scent. The temperature in the Saltarium is between 60 °C and 65 °C and the humidity is relatively low, between 40-50%.
What are the benefits of the Saltarium?
The saline air in the Saltarium has a positive effect on airways, making this sauna extremely suitable for guests with bronchial symptoms. Allergens cause mucous membranes in the nose, throat, and lungs to swell in people who suffer from conditions like asthma, hay fever, and other allergies. This causes the tiny muscle fibres in the bronchial walls to contract. A sauna like the Saltarium relaxes all of your muscles, including those in the bronchi. Saunas therefore relieve respiratory symptoms in many people who suffer from allergies or asthma. Guests with dermatological problems also benefit from the Saltarium, as the salty air has a purifying effect on the skin.
