Salty, briny air
Salt water drips over blackthorn branches in a wooden framework. As the water seeps down, it evaporates, enriching the air with salt and giving it a subtle, pleasant scent. The salty air has a positive effect on the respiratory system, making this sauna especially suitable for guests with bronchial issues, asthma, or hay fever.
What is a Saltarium?
The Saltarium is particularly special because of an age-old technique: a Gradierwerk that naturally adds salt to the air. Salt water drips over blackthorn branches in a wooden frame. As the water evaporates while trickling down, the air is enriched with salt and takes on a subtle, pleasant scent. The temperature in the Saltarium ranges between 60 and 65°C, and the humidity is relatively low, between 40 and 50%.
What are the benefits of the Saltarium? The salty air in the Saltarium has a positive effect on the respiratory system, making this sauna very suitable for guests with bronchial complaints. With conditions such as asthma, hay fever, and other allergies, the mucous membranes in the nose, throat, and lungs swell upon contact with triggering substances. The tiny muscle fibers in the bronchial walls then constrict. During a visit to the Saltarium, all muscles in your body relax — including those small fibers. This is why many people with allergies or asthma experience relief here.
Guests with dermatological conditions also benefit from the Saltarium: the salty air has a cleansing effect on the skin.
